HiveThread started because the existing options were too expensive for what they actually delivered. Chekkit at $223 a month per business. Podium at $599. Birdeye at $448 per location. All charging real money to do something that — once you stripped away the marketing — was a shared inbox with a few add-ons.

So we built our own. Six months of engineering, real Australian SMS compliance done properly through Twilio Trust Hub, AI suggestions that draw on your own knowledge base instead of generic templates, and reviews from Google and Facebook landing in the same inbox as everything else. We use it every day to run our own business — that's how we know it works.

Why we built it

Local businesses with 1 to 10 staff don't need a 12-seat enterprise messaging platform. They need every customer message in one place, on a phone, with a couple of teammates seeing the same screen. They need their Google reviews replied to without bouncing between three apps. They need it to be cheaper than what it's replacing.

How we're funded

HiveThread is bootstrapped. No investors, no advertising, no data resale. Customers pay a simple monthly subscription — that's all the money that comes in.
